Reasons You Should Have a Business Blog, Part 2
As promised, here is the fifth reason you should implement a blog for your business. (You can read the previous 4 reasons here…)
5. Be the answer
As consumers, we are addicted to “search” and that addiction continues to grow. Chances are you’ve been in a conversation where a question came up and someone in the group instinctively grabbed their smartphone and provided a fairly instant answer. We are used to having information at our fingertips. So what does this mean to you, the small business owner?
You can’t be all things to all people, but you CAN be the “go to” for your niche, especially with your customers. Don’t let Google send your customers halfway around the world for answers YOU can give them – right here, right down the block from where they live. They know you, and there is a trust factor you can nourish with useful web content.
If your company is losing customers to online business, you may feel powerless against the digital onslaught. Instead of shunning technology, provide your customers with the best of both worlds. Along with personal, one-on-one attention at your physical location, you can provide useful, thoughtful service when they are on the go or sitting at home on their computers. A business blog puts you at their fingertips when they are looking for help.
Don’t rely on Google to offer you up as an answer. Make it known that you are frequently answering questions and educating your customers through your blog. Invite them to subscribe to your blog and then deliver awesome content that gives them an edge, some inside knowledge that you can pass along to them.
If you are a computer store in Lake Charles, don’t let your customers find answers to their questions from a computer store in Hackensack, NJ. You’re better than that. You have the expertise. You can be the answer.
